This site exists to help you find us, plan a visit, watch a service and stay connected. These terms explain what you can expect from us and what we ask of you. They are written to be read, not to be endured.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site — you are still very welcome to visit us in person or call the church office.
2. Information on this site
We work to keep service times, events and contact details accurate. Even so, plans change: weather, holidays and special services can all move a time at short notice.
If a visit depends on an exact time, please call the church office on (718) 515-7552 to confirm. We would rather take the call than have you arrive at a locked door.
Nothing on this site is legal, financial, medical or professional advice.
3. Using the forms
When you send a prayer request or a connect card, we ask that you:
- Give accurate information about yourself.
- Send only what is yours to send — please do not share private details about another person without their knowledge.
- Do not use the forms for advertising, solicitation, abuse, threats or anything unlawful.
Our prayer team reads every request. We will do our best to respond where you have asked us to, but we cannot promise a reply by a particular time.
These forms are not monitored around the clock, and they are not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. For urgent pastoral need, call the church office directly.
How we handle what you send is set out in our privacy policy.
4. Giving online
No payment is taken on this website. When you choose a giving method you are taken to an outside provider — PayPal, Cash App, or our text-giving service — and their terms and privacy policy apply to that transaction.
- Gifts to the church are made freely and are generally not refundable. If a gift was made in error, contact the church office as soon as you can and we will do our best to help.
- Please make sure you are giving through a link on our own site or our official linktr.ee/gtcbx page. We will never email or text you asking for gift cards, cryptocurrency or a wire transfer. If you receive a message like that claiming to be from the church, it is not from us — please tell us.
- For a giving statement for tax purposes, contact the church office.
5. Text messages
Text giving works through a short code: you text GTCBXDONATE to 54244. Texting that word is how you opt in — the church does not add anyone to a text list, and we do not send marketing texts.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply; those are charged by your mobile carrier, not by the church.
- Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. You can also call the church office and we will take you off.
- We never sell or rent mobile numbers, and we never pass them to anyone else for their own marketing.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- For help with text giving: (718) 515-7552 or gtcbx@aol.com.
6. Events and registration
Some events are booked through ChMeetings, our church management system, which has its own terms. Events may be rescheduled or cancelled; where that happens we will publish the change here and announce it in services.
7. Services, streaming and photography
Our services are recorded and streamed. If you attend in person, you may appear in a recording, a photograph or a live stream. If you would prefer not to be filmed, speak to a greeter or a member of the media team when you arrive and we will seat you out of camera view.
Please do not re-publish or sell recordings of our services without permission. You are very welcome to share our official links.
8. Our content
The text, images, sermons, music, logo and design on this site belong to Gospel Tabernacle Church or are used with permission. You may share and link to them for personal, non-commercial and ministry purposes with credit. For any other use, please ask us first — we usually say yes.
The Gospel Tabernacle Church name and seal may not be used in a way that suggests we endorse a person, product, campaign or organisation without our written agreement.
9. If we have used your work
The sermons, music, photographs and writing on this site are here because they belong to the church or because we believe we have permission. Nothing on this site is uploaded by the public — if something of yours appears here, we put it there, and if we got that wrong we would rather know than argue about it.
Write to gtcbx@aol.com telling us what the work is, where it appears on this site, and how to reach you. We will take it down while we look into it.
10. Links to other sites
This site links to services we use, including YouTube, Facebook, X, PayPal, Cash App, Google Maps and ChMeetings. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their practices. Their terms apply once you leave ours.
11. Availability
We aim to keep this site available and working, but we cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including these terms, at any time. Where we change these terms, the date at the top of this page changes too.
12. Limits of responsibility
This website is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, Gospel Tabernacle Church is not liable for loss arising from your use of the site, from information on it being out of date, or from a service provided by one of the outside companies named above.
Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited.
13. If your use causes a claim
If someone brings a claim against the church because of the way you used this site — for instance something you sent through a form that was not yours to send, or a use of our material that broke these terms — you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and let you take part in dealing with it.
14. If we disagree
Before anyone goes to law, we ask you to come to us first. Scripture asks the same of us (Matthew 18:15–17; 1 Corinthians 6:1–8), and in our experience most things that look like disputes are misunderstandings that a conversation settles.
- Write to the church office at gtcbx@aol.com or call (718) 515-7552, setting out what has gone wrong.
- We will respond within 30 days and sit down with you.
- If that does not settle it, we will both go to mediation before either of us files anything. We will share the mediator's cost equally so that it is not a barrier to you.
This is not a waiver of anything. If mediation does not work, the courts of New York remain fully open to you.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and the courts of New York have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
16. General
- If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
- If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else. We may transfer ours if the church reorganises or merges with another body.
- These terms, together with our privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and the church about your use of this site.
- We have not asked you to give up your right to go to court. There is no binding arbitration clause here and no waiver of class actions. We ask only that you talk to us first — see If we disagree.
