Privacy policy

Gospel Tabernacle Church is a church family, not a marketing company. We ask for as little information as we can, we use it only for the reason you gave it to us, and we never sell it. This page explains exactly what happens to anything you share here.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

We only collect what you type into one of the two forms on this site. There is no account to create, and we do not run advertising trackers.

Prayer request form

• Your name — optional. You may leave it blank and still send a request.
• Your request — whatever you choose to write.
• Confidentiality preference — whether you have asked us to share the request only with the prayer team.

Connect form

• Your name
• Your email address
• What you are interested in — for example planning a first visit, membership, or serving.

We do not ask for your address, date of birth, or any payment details anywhere on this site.

3. Prayer requests

A prayer request often contains some of the most personal information a person will ever share — about health, family, grief or faith. We treat it that way.

• If you tick “Keep this request confidential”, your request is shared only with the prayer team and is not read aloud, printed in a bulletin, posted online, or discussed in a service.
• If you do not tick it, your request may be shared with the wider congregation for prayer. If you are unsure, tick the box.
• You may send a request without giving your name at all.
• You can ask us to delete a request at any time — see Your choices.

4. How we use it

We use what you send us to do the thing you asked for, and nothing else:

• To pray for you.
• To reply to you, if you asked us to get in touch.
• To help you take the next step you told us you were interested in — planning a visit, membership, joining a ministry, or serving.

We do not use your details for advertising, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you sent a prayer request.

5. Who we share it with

We never sell your information, and we never rent or trade it.

Your information is seen by the pastoral and administrative team at Gospel Tabernacle Church who need it to respond to you. Beyond that, it is shared only where the law requires it, or where there is a genuine and immediate risk to someone’s safety.

6. Giving and payments

No payment is ever taken on this website. When you choose a giving method, you leave this site and go to that provider, who handles the transaction and holds the payment details under their own privacy policy:

• PayPal — paypal.com
• Cash App — cash.app
• Text giving — operated by our text-giving provider

We never see or store your card number, bank details or Cash App balance. We receive only the record of a gift, so we can thank you and account for it properly.

Text giving. If you text GTCBXDONATE to 54244, your mobile number is held by the text-giving provider so it can process the gift and reply to you. We do not sell or rent mobile numbers and we never pass them on for anyone else's marketing. Reply STOP at any time to opt out — the full terms of the text service are set out in our terms of use.

7. Other services on this site

A few things on this site are provided by other companies. When your browser loads them, it contacts those companies directly, and they may record your IP address as part of serving the content:

• Google Fonts — supplies the typefaces used across the site.
• Google Maps — the embedded map on the contact section.
• ChMeetings — event registration, if you register for an event.
• YouTube, Facebook and X — only when you click one of those links and leave this site.

We do not use advertising cookies or analytics trackers on this site.

8. How long we keep it

We do not keep things indefinitely, and we would rather tell you the actual periods than say "as long as necessary":

• Prayer requests — 90 days. We delete them within 90 days of receiving them, unless you have asked us to keep praying about something ongoing.
• Connect cards — reviewed every 12 months. We keep your details while the conversation about membership, baptism or serving is live, and clear out anything dormant at the annual review.
• Giving records — 7 years. This is what a church needs to keep for its financial records and to issue giving statements.
• Mobile numbers for text giving are held by the text-giving provider under their own policy, not on this website.

If you ask us to delete something sooner, we will.

9. Your choices

You can always ask us to:

• Tell you what information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete what you sent us.
• Stop contacting you.

Email gtcbx@aol.com or call (718) 515-7552 and say what you would like us to do. You do not need to give a reason, and it will not affect your welcome here.

10. Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through this site. If you believe a child has sent us information here, contact us and we will delete it. Registration for children’s ministry is handled in person, by a parent or guardian.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in a service and in our regular communications.
